These powerful words by Pope Francis remind us that young people are not waiting in line—they are already leading, transforming, and shaping the Church and the world today.
National Youth Sunday is more than just a date on the calendar. It is a celebration and a spiritual awakening.
This 10 August 2025, across all parishes in India, the youth will be gathering not just in groups but in unity—in prayer and in joyful celebration of their faith, their identity, and their mission.
Our youth are filled with potential, creativity, and energy. From digital innovation and social awareness to cultural richness and spiritual depth—God has blessed the young with gifts meant to build up the Church and heal the world. Now is the time to ask ourselves:
We believe the answer to these questions lies in active participation, leadership, and witness.
The recent Jubilee of Youth in Rome answered this call. Thousands of young people from across the globe came together and, in a deeply symbolic moment, Pope Leo walked alongside them, bearing the cross—reminding us that Christ walks with us, especially with the young. In that spirit, the Jubilee declared boldly:
"We love Jesus, and we are ready to live our faith in reality."
This same spirit must now ignite in the heart of every young person in India. Did you know that a significant percentage of the Catholic population in India is made up of young people? That means the Church in India is young. And a young Church is a vibrant Church—called to dream big, serve boldly, and love without limits.
As we celebrate National Youth Sunday, we reflect on the powerful words of Jesus: "You also are my witnesses, because you have been with me" (Jn 15:27). This theme is a call to action, reminding us that our personal journey with Christ calls us to be His voice and hands in the world. We are challenged to share the hope and love we have experienced. Let us embrace this mission with courage and joy, making a difference in our parishes and in society.
So let this National Youth Sunday be a day of inspiration, action, and celebration.
Celebrate with your parish youth family, reflect on your mission as a young Catholic, and take steps to empower others and strengthen your faith.
Together, let us rise to say:
We are young. We are the Church. We are ready.
