One-Day Training Programme Held for CHAI Institutions Directors, Administrators and HR Managers

Kochi: A one-day orientation programme for Directors, Administrators and HR Managers of CHAI institutions was conducted today at POC, Palarivattom. The programme was designed to equip leaders with updated knowledge on the latest labour codes and administrative regulations affecting healthcare institutions.

The session began at 9.30 AM with registration followed by a prayer. Dr. Sr. Lillisa SABS, CHAI Executive Director and Secretary, KCBC Health Commission, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of efficient administration and compliance with statutory norms in healthcare establishments.

The first technical session was led by Adv. Vincent Alex (Retd. Labour Commissioner), who gave an insightful presentation on the Code on Wages. This was followed by sessions handled by expert speaker Mr. Varkiachan Pettah, focusing on the Code on Industrial Relations and the Code on Social Security. He explained the implications of these newly implemented codes and guided participants on compliance strategies for institutions.

After the lunch break, the final session was led by Adv. Jijo Kallookaran, who handled the topic on OSH (Occupational Safety, Health) and Working Conditions Code. Participants were updated on safety protocols, mandatory working conditions, and measures that institutions must undertake for the safety of employees and patients.

The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session and tea, enabling participants to seek clarifications regarding institutional practices and policy frameworks.

Dr. Sr. Lillisa SABS thanked all the speakers and delegates for their active participation and reiterated CHAI’s commitment to strengthening healthcare administration and promoting excellence in service.
