New Parish Council Formed at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church in Agra

Agra, April 8, 2025 – The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church in Agra officially formed a new parish council on April 5, 2025, to better serve the needs of the parish community and enhance church leadership.

The council was established to support church administration, improve community outreach, organise parish events, and strengthen ties between the clergy and congregation. This initiative aims to foster greater participation among parishioners and provide a structured platform for collaborative decision-making.

Acting as a bridge between the church leadership and the faithful, the council will ensure that concerns, ideas, and feedback from the community are effectively communicated and addressed.

The newly formed council consists of a diverse group of parishioners who bring a range of skills and experiences and a shared commitment to the growth of the parish. Fr. Rajan Dass, the parish priest of the cathedral, has been appointed President of the council. Mr. Robin Massey will serve as Vice President, and Mr. Joel has been designated Secretary.

Among the council’s top priorities for the year are the expansion of outreach programmes, improved communication with the congregation, and the implementation of a sustainable plan for the church’s maintenance. These efforts aim to deepen the connection between the church and the local community.

Parishioners are encouraged to actively participate in council-led initiatives. Updates on meetings, projects, and volunteer opportunities will be shared regularly through the church bulletin and official social media platforms.

The formation of the parish council marks a significant step forward in community-led stewardship at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, promising a more inclusive and dynamic future for the church and its congregation.
