Manipur Youth Camp Encourages Young People to Tackle Challenges Together

CHANDEL, October 24, 2026: Around 100 young people from villages served by St. Paul’s Parish, Liwachangning, in Manipur’s Chandel district, gathered for the parish’s 25th Youth Camp to explore ways of overcoming everyday challenges and strengthening their commitment to Christian service.

Held under the theme, “In the world you will have trouble. But take courage; I have conquered the world” (John 16:33), the camp focused on resilience, mutual support and leadership.

On October 21, Fr. Jacob Darsongam, director of the Manipur Catholic Youth Organization (MCYO), and Sr. Mariyam Chothe Khiyang MSMHC, youth animator, led group discussions, interactive activities and sharing sessions.

Participants exchanged personal experiences, identified daily challenges and explored practical solutions together, drawing inspiration from the Gospel.

The camp also helped young people from different villages build stronger relationships, develop leadership skills and renew their commitment to Christian life and service.

The programme aimed to inspire participants to become agents of hope and positive change through constructive action and service to others.
