Lenten Youth Retreat Draws Young Faithful in Vasai Diocese

Vasai, March 5, 2026: A Lenten youth retreat organised by Yuvadarshan brought together dozens of young Catholics from across the Roman Catholic Diocese of Vasai for a day of prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

Held on March 3 at SVD Shishyalaya, Giriz, the retreat gathered 82 youth representing various parishes of the diocese. The programme aimed to help participants deepen their spiritual journey during the season of Lent through moments of prayer, faith formation, and personal reflection.

The retreat opened with a prayer service and hymn, setting a reflective tone for the day’s activities. Participants then attended a series of sessions centred on important Lenten themes, including overcoming temptation, strengthening one’s prayer life, understanding repentance, and embracing spiritual renewal.

Priests who led the sessions encouraged the young participants to reflect on their daily choices and to cultivate a deeper relationship with God. Interactive group discussions offered the youth an opportunity to share personal experiences and insights, helping them explore how Lenten values can guide their everyday lives.

The programme also featured praise and worship, the Way of the Cross, time for personal prayer, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. These moments of prayer and reflection allowed participants to engage more deeply with the spiritual significance of the Lenten season.

By the end of the retreat, many participants expressed a renewed commitment to carry forward the spirit of prayer, repentance, and renewal as they continue their Lenten journey. Organisers said the gathering helped strengthen the faith of young people while encouraging them to remain actively involved in the life of the Church.
