Kurnool Diocese Hosts First-Ever Career Guidance Programme

Kurnool, Andra Pradesh, 7 April, 2025 - The Diocese of Kurnool successfully conducted its first-ever Career Guidance Programme for youth on 5–6 April 2025 at Jeevasudha Pastoral Centre, Kurnool.

The event was inaugurated by Gorantla Johannes, Bishop of Kurnool, who encouraged the youth to take ownership of their future. Over 500 high school students (Grades 10–12) participated in the two-day workshop, which aimed to help them make informed academic and career choices.

Key speakers included Bishop Gorantla Johannes, Mr. Rajasekhar, Fr. N. Bala SJ (Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada), Fr. Justin (Don Bosco), and Mr. Sandeep. Their sessions covered personality development, effective communication, and strategic course selection.

The programme followed a five-step model: self-awareness, career exploration, academic paths, real-life encounters, and decision-making. Sessions blended lectures, discussions, and personal sharing.

Fr. Koduru Rajendra Kumar, Diocesan Youth and Communications Director, stated the initiative was designed to empower young people. “By the end of the sessions, students felt more confident in their choices,” he said.

The event was organised by Fr. Rajendra Kumar, Fr. Praveen Egalapati, Fr. Manoj, and sisters from various congregations.
