KCYM St. Michael’s Church, Ernakulam, Kerala, Hosts Ever-Rolling Trophy 7’s Football Tournament

Kakkanad: The KCYM (Kerala Catholic Youth Movement) unit of St. Michael’s Church, Chembumukku in Ernakulam, successfully organised the Ever-Rolling Trophy 7’s Football Tournament, sponsored by the C.J. Joseph Cheriyil Memorial and Rajesh Thomas Vettikkattu. The tournament brought together football enthusiasts for a spirited competition, highlighting teamwork and sportsmanship.


Parish Vicar Rev. Fr. Joseph Thattarasherry inaugurated the event, which saw intense battles on the field. In a thrilling final, D Block claimed the championship title, while E Block secured the runners-up position.


Calvin from D Block was named Best Player, while Alfin Joseph, also from D Block, earned the Top Scorer title. Amal, representing D Block, was recognised as the Best Goalkeeper for his outstanding performance.


The closing ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr. Sunil Mudavadassery, Assistant Vicar of Chembumukku Parish. Also in attendance were Rose Mary K.J., KCYM Varapuzha Archdiocese General Secretary, and Arun Vijay S., KCYM Vice President. Amrith Barid, Kaloor Region Secretary, and Ajon C. Pius, President of the Chembumukku Unit, also graced the occasion.


Chembumukku Unit Secretary Ryan Varghese, Treasurer Samson Joseph, and Sports Forum Convener Philip Herman were joined by Solomon Joseph and other executive members and unit representatives, marking the tournament’s successful conclusion. The event reinforced KCYM’s commitment to fostering youth engagement, teamwork, and sportsmanship within the community.
