Karnataka Christian Development Corporation Hosts Awareness Workshop in Karwar

Karwar, November 22, 2025 — The Karnataka Christian Development Corporation Limited conducted a comprehensive information workshop at Puneeth Sadan, Karwar, to educate the Christian community on government welfare schemes available for their benefit.

Shri Prakash Jattan, State-level Member of the Corporation, led the workshop and highlighted the purpose, benefits, and practical use of the various schemes. He was joined by Mr. Suhas, Karwar District In-charge. The session drew active participation from priests, pastors, religious, and lay faithful from across the diocese.

During the workshop, resource persons offered detailed explanations of the schemes implemented for the Christian minority community. They outlined eligibility requirements, the application process, where to submit forms, and the necessary documents and criteria. Participants later raised queries on the schemes, and the officials provided clear, helpful responses to address their concerns.

Bishop Dr. Duming Dias of Karwar expressed his gratitude to Shri Prakash Jattan for his valuable guidance and to Mr. Suhas and the organising team for coordinating the workshop. The Bishop urged priests and pastors to identify people in genuine need and assist them in accessing these opportunities. “We have received the information; now it is our responsibility to share it with others,” he said. He also thanked the government for extending welfare schemes to the Christian community.

The workshop concluded with the formation of a committee committed to spreading awareness of the schemes and ensuring that deserving beneficiaries receive maximum support.
