Jabalpur, 10 April, 2025: After a five-year pause, the Jabalpur Diocese held a landmark Diocesan Commissions and Deanery Meeting on 7 and 10 April, marking a renewed phase of collaboration, reflection, and planning.
Bishop Valan Arasu welcomed participants, stressing the urgency of evaluating the diocese’s current state and focusing on priority areas. He underlined the need for pastoral care, teamwork, and holistic development in addressing present challenges.
Ten Principal commissions, along with their sub-commissions, presented detailed reports on recent activities and outlined plans for the Jubilee Year. Chairpersons and secretaries led discussions, encouraged feedback, and addressed questions with transparency.
The Conference of Religious of India (CRI) and the deanery representatives also shared their insights. Deans presented grassroots realities, particularly the growing persecution faced by communities, and proposed practical strategies to bolster resilience and outreach.
“This gathering has helped us reflect deeply and move forward with purpose,” said one commission leader.
The assembly served as a vital platform for dialogue and strategic direction, enabling the diocese to reassess its mission and strengthen its ministries.
The event stands as a testament to the diocese’s commitment to unity, service, and progress amid adversity.
