Bangalore, 17 April 2025: In a powerful celebration of faith and storytelling, Archbishop Peter Machado graced the premiere of The Chosen: Last Supper on 17 April 2025. Held at a fully packed 11 am show at PVR Koramangala, Bangalore, the screening gathered a vibrant and diverse crowd—clergy, religious sisters, lay faithful, and enthusiastic Christian youth—united by a shared anticipation to witness the globally beloved series, The Chosen.
The Archbishop was warmly received by the cinema staff, marking a unique and meaningful moment as he stepped into a mainstream theatre for the first time for a faith-based screening. The Catholic Connect team, an official partner of The Chosen in India, was also present at the event, enthusiastic to witness the powerful retelling on the big screen.
Following the screening, Archbishop Machado shared, “The Chosen: Last Supper is more than just a film—it was an experience. It transported us into the very heart of Jesus, allowing us to feel His love, His struggles, and the immense opposition He faced. I’m truly glad I was here to witness it and I encourage everyone to experience it for themselves.”
The energy in the theatre was palpable, with many visibly moved by the film’s spiritual depth and storytelling. For several, it became a meaningful encounter with Christ.
