ICYM Nagpur Hosts Career Guidance Programme for Archdiocesan Youth

Elizabeth Sanna Hall, Nagpur, 7 April, 2025 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Nagpur, under the guidance of Archbishop Dr. Elias Gonsalves, Youth Director Fr. Anbu Xavier, Sr. Megha SMMI, and Sr. Angel Wangsu MSMHC, successfully hosted a Career Guidance Programme on Sunday, 6 April 2025, at Elizabeth Sanna Hall.

Drawing over 125 young participants from across the Archdiocese, the day-long event aimed to equip youth with clarity and direction in their career paths and vocational discernment. Following registration, the atmosphere was energised with action songs, setting an engaging tone for the sessions.

The programme was formally inaugurated with an opening prayer by ICYM Nagpur President Mr. Vivian Wasnik, followed by the lighting of the lamp—a symbolic gesture of enlightenment.

Dr. Reuben Buthello, the keynote speaker from Mumbai, led the first session, offering insights on career planning, goal-setting, and effective time management. After a short refreshment break, Ms. Manisha Mahatme expanded on diverse career opportunities, providing a broader perspective to the attendees.

Fr. Shine Augustine SAC then addressed the gathering, inspiring youth to explore their vocational calling and serve both Church and society with purpose.

An interactive panel discussion with Dr. Buthello, Ms. Mahatme, Sr. Megha, and Fr. Shine allowed participants to seek personal guidance through an open Q&A.

The winners from ICYM's recent Instagram Reel competition, themed “How Will I Prepare for Lent?”were announced and Mr. Aaron Daniel (Secretary, ICYM Nagpur) thanked everyone for their presence and evaluation from Fr. Johnson SAC, Dean of Nagpur Deanery.
