Bidar, Gulbarga, Karnataka, August 24, 2025 – The Women’s Commission of Bidar Deanery hosted a Health and Wellness Seminar at Sacred Heart Church, Bidar, to raise awareness on holistic health and promote healthy living practices among women.
The programme opened with a vibrant action song and a prayer led by Fr. Clary, Dean of Bidar Deanery, invoking blessings for the success of the initiative. Sr. Maria Reetha, Secretary of the Women’s Commission, welcomed the participants and introduced the resource person, Dr Sony, a noted Ayurvedic practitioner.
In her presentation, Dr. Sony emphasised the importance of balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, stress management, and preventive healthcare in women’s lives. She also underscored the role of prayer and Scripture in fostering inner healing and spiritual well-being.
The seminar encouraged active participation through an interactive discussion. Women raised questions and shared personal concerns, which Dr. Sony addressed with practical advice and guidance. The forum also highlighted the need for greater awareness of women’s legal rights, a topic the Commission plans to take up in upcoming programmes.
Mrs. Monica proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the organisers and participants. The seminar concluded with refreshments, providing an opportunity for informal interaction and fellowship.
Participants departed with renewed motivation and practical insights, committed to adopting healthier lifestyles for themselves and their families. The event reinforced the Commission’s mission to support women not only in faith but also in their overall well-being.
