Gwalior Diocese Marks St. Carlo Acutis Feast with Focus on Faith in Digital Age

Dabra, Gwalior, October 25, 2026: The Diocese of Gwalior celebrated the feast of St Carlo Acutis and Media Day at the Infant Jesus Shrine in Dabra, bringing together clergy, religious and young people to reflect on the saint’s witness to faith in the digital age.

Bishop Joseph Thykattil of Gwalior presided over the Eucharistic celebration, concelebrated by Bishop Emeritus Joseph Kaithathara and diocesan priests.

In his homily, Bishop Kaithathara presented Acutis as an example for Christians navigating the internet and social media. He highlighted how the young saint’s devotion to Jesus and his efforts to share the faith could inspire people to deepen their relationship with Christ amid the challenges of the digital world.

The Infant Jesus Shrine in Dabra houses an original relic of Acutis and a grotto dedicated to him. Faithful from across the diocese gathered for the celebration and venerated the relic.

Young people from various parishes and mission centres presented a cultural programme following the Mass, portraying Acutis’s life and witness and highlighting the relevance of his example for today’s generation.

The celebration concluded with a fellowship lunch, bringing together participants from across the diocese.
