Mangaluru, June 15, 2026: St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, took a significant step towards preparing educators for the digital age by organising a specialised workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) as part of its Faculty Development Programme on “Empowering Educators Through Purpose, Skills and Technology” on June 12.
The workshop was led by AI strategist and cybersecurity specialist Mr. Leo Victor, who introduced faculty members to the growing role of AI in teaching, learning and research. Through live demonstrations, practical exercises and interactive discussions, participants explored AI-powered tools for lesson planning, content creation, assessment design, student engagement and academic research.
A notable feature of the programme was the distribution of premium AI resources to faculty members, enabling them to gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies. Participants appreciated the practical insights and recognised AI’s potential to enhance productivity and reduce routine workloads, allowing educators to focus more on creativity and student mentoring.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Victor emphasised the need for educators to prepare students for an AI-driven future and encouraged teachers to become leaders in fostering innovation, digital responsibility and critical thinking among learners.
The workshop highlighted that AI is not a substitute for teachers but a valuable tool that can strengthen educational effectiveness when used ethically and responsibly.
Organised by the HRD Cell and IQAC under the leadership of Principal Sr. Dr. M. Venissa A.C., the initiative reflected St. Agnes College’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation and future-ready education in an increasingly technology-driven world.
