Chandigarh, July 12, 2026: Nearly 100 young people from parishes across the Chandigarh Deanery came together at Navjeevan Don Bosco, Sector 24, on July 11 for “Glow Up with Jesus,” a day-long faith formation programme aimed at deepening their relationship with Christ and strengthening Christian fellowship.
Jointly organised by the Missionaries of Charity Sisters, Sector 23, and the Cathedral Youth, the programme brought together 98 participants for a day of prayer, reflection, worship, and community-building.
The event began with a welcome by Fr. Arul, who encouraged the participants to make the most of the opportunity for spiritual growth. Eucharistic Adoration followed, led by Fr. Julian of the Don Bosco Society, with praise and worship creating an atmosphere of prayer and reflection.
During his talk on love and relationships, Fr. Julian reminded the youth that authentic love is founded on respect, trust, commitment, sacrifice, and selfless concern for others. He encouraged them to place Christ at the centre of their relationships and seek God's guidance when making important decisions in life.
Throughout the adoration, several priests were available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, offering participants an opportunity for spiritual renewal and a deeper experience of God's mercy.
The programme continued with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, followed by a fellowship meal that enabled young people from different parishes to interact and build lasting friendships.
A highlight of the gathering was the visit of the bishop, who reflected on the life of St. Benedict and emphasised the importance of cultivating the art of listening in today's fast-paced world. He urged the youth to become attentive listeners to God's voice and to the needs of those around them.
The afternoon session featured outdoor games and team-building activities coordinated by Fr. Julian with the assistance of deanery volunteers, fostering unity and collaboration among the participants.
The gathering concluded with a vote of thanks to the priests and religious who helped organise the programme, including Fr. Arul, Fr. Lancy, Fr. Bibin, Fr. Rohit, Fr. Stephen, and Fr. Julian.
The Cathedral Youth also bid farewell to Sr. Jona Maria of the Missionaries of Charity, thanking her for her dedicated service and assuring her of their prayers as she begins her new mission.
The programme ended with the participants returning to their parishes inspired to deepen their faith, nurture Christ-centred relationships, and bear witness to the Gospel in their families, communities, and daily lives.
