Fr. Moncy Nellikunnel SDB, Head of the Department of Liturgy at Kristu Jyothi College, Bengaluru, served as the resource person. Introducing him was Fr. Gerald Saraga, Commission Secretary for Liturgy, while the diocesan Vicar General, Fr. Santhosh Bapu, extended a warm welcome.

In his address, Fr. Moncy underscored the need for conscious and active participation in liturgy, reminding clergy that every gesture and action carries profound meaning. He also pointed out common mistakes often made during celebrations and offered practical guidance on fostering worship that remains faithful to the Church’s norms.

Following his presentation, priests engaged in an open discussion where they raised questions, shared experiences, and pledged to eliminate irregular practices. The group identified errors and agreed on concrete points for uniform implementation across the diocese.

Bishop Robert Miranda attended the session and later chaired a discussion that also covered preparations for the Closing of the Jubilee Year 2025 and the forthcoming Jathra meeting. He formally approved the proposed liturgical norms, ensuring consistency in celebrations while safeguarding their reverence.

The seminar concluded with the Bishop encouraging priests to apply the decisions taken, stressing that such efforts would enrich the spiritual life of the faithful.
