Christus Fiesta 2025: A Celebration of Faith, Unity, and Youthful Spirit at Udupi

Udupi, 17 March 2025 – Over 410 enthusiastic youths from across the Udupi Diocese gathered at Stella Maris Church, Kalmady, for Christus Fiesta 2025, a grand Christian Life Celebration organised by the Youth Commission Diocese of Udupi and Jesus Youth Udupi on 16 March.

Rev. Fr. Steven Fernandes, Diocesan Youth Director, led the blessing prayer, followed by an inspiring inaugural address from Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Baptist Menezes, Parish Priest of Stella Maris Church, Kalmady.

Under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Brayan, Jesus Youth Udupi Coordinator, the Jesus Youth team meticulously planned and beautifully executed the event, bringing alive the theme “Celebrating Christian Life with Jesus.”

The event included vibrant praise and worship sessions led by the Jesus Youth band, powerful personal testimonies, and an enlightening Pro-Life Ministry exhibition. A standout moment was the “Living Saints” competition, where participants depicted the lives of real saints, inspiring others to walk in their footsteps.

The spiritual celebrations reached a pinnacle with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Msgr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, Vicar General of the Diocese of Udupi. Adding depth to the event, Fr. Canute Barboza, Parish Priest of Miyar, conducted a thought-provoking session on “Celebrating Christian Life with Jesus.” The day also included a profound and soul-stirring adoration led by Fr. Cyril Lobo, Director of Divya Jyoti, Udupi Diocese.

A poignant spiritual encounter presented by the youth and parishioners of Stella Maris Church, Kalmady, brought key biblical scenarios to life, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees.

The ICYM Central Council and YCS Central Council played an instrumental role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event, which reignited the faith and enthusiasm of young Catholics, inspiring them to embrace their Christian journey with renewed zeal.
