Kunkuri, Chattisgarh, June 27, 2026: The Chhattisgarh Region of the Catholic Church strengthened its evangelisation efforts through a two-day Regional Training and Formation Programme on Evangelization held on June 25–26 at the Bishop's House in Kunkuri.
Organised by the CCBI Commission for Proclamation in collaboration with Suvarta Kendra, Seva Sadan, Bhopal, the programme was conducted under the theme, “Come and See – Go and Form Missionary Disciples” (Acts 1:8). The initiative sought to deepen missionary discipleship and equip pastoral leaders with practical tools for evangelisation.
The training was held under the leadership of Bishop Emmanuel Kerketta, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Region. Seventy participants, including priests, religious, catechists and lay leaders representing the region’s four dioceses, took part in the programme.
Resource persons included Fr. Raju Mathew, Associate Secretary of the CCBI Commission for Proclamation and Director of Suvarta Kendra, Bhopal, along with Fr. John Ponnore, Regional Deputy Secretary, and Fr. Alfred. Through presentations, group discussions, interactive exercises and practical reflections, they guided participants in exploring effective approaches to missionary outreach and evangelisation.

Participants appreciated the interactive format of the programme, which provided opportunities to share pastoral experiences, reflect on their missionary calling and engage in collaborative learning. Group sessions also enabled them to formulate practical action plans tailored to their local pastoral contexts.
The programme concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to becoming missionary disciples and active witnesses to the Gospel in their communities. Organisers expressed gratitude to Bishop Emmanuel Kerketta for hosting the event and thanked all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and contribution to the success of the programme.
