TCYM Participates in YCS-YSM Investiture Ceremony During Sacred Heart Feast Celebrations

Hyderabad, June 27, 2026: The Telugu Catholic Youth Movement (TCYM), functioning under the Telangana Catholic Bishops' Conference (TCBC) Commission for Youth, joined the YCS and YSM Investiture Ceremony held at Sacred Heart High School, South Lallaguda, on June 27 as part of the institution's Sacred Heart Feast celebrations.


The event commenced with the Holy Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Sleevaraj SDB, Regional Youth Director of the TCBC Commission for Youth. Reflecting on the significance of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Fr. Sleevaraj called on students to emulate Christ's example of love, compassion, forgiveness and selfless service. He encouraged them to become bearers of hope, peace and charity in their communities.


Following the Mass, the formal programme began with a Guard of Honour for the dignitaries and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. A prayer song and welcome dance added a festive and spiritual atmosphere to the gathering.


The highlight of the celebration was the YCS and YSM Investiture Ceremony, conducted by Fr. Jerome and Mr. Joseph. Newly elected student leaders were formally invested with badges of office and pledged to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, integrity and enthusiasm. They also reaffirmed their commitment to the YCS-YSM motto, “See – Judge – Act.

Students of Class 10 presented a series of cultural performances, including a dance programme focused on environmental protection, emphasising the Christian responsibility to care for creation.


Addressing the gathering, Fr. Sleevaraj urged students to grow as faithful disciples and young missionaries of Christ by living Gospel values in their homes, schools and society. He stressed the importance of leadership grounded in prayer, faith, responsibility and service to others.


The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr. Praveen Kumar, Principal of Sacred Heart High School. He expressed appreciation to the chief guests, priests, religious, teachers, parents, students, volunteers and organisers for their contributions to the event. He also congratulated the newly invested leaders and encouraged them to serve as role models of Christian values and responsible leadership.


The celebration provided students with an opportunity to deepen their commitment to faith, leadership and service, inspiring them to become active witnesses of Christ and contribute positively to both the Church and society.
