CCBI Retreat Helps 37 Priests Renew Their Priestly Vocation

BENGALURU, October 14, 2026: Thirty-seven diocesan and religious priests celebrating 25 and 40 years of priesthood are taking part in a spiritual renewal programme organised by the Commission for Vocations, Seminaries, Clergy and Religious (VSCR) of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI).

The programme includes a five-day retreat from October 13 to 18 at St John’s Medical College Hospital, Bengaluru, followed by a nine-day pilgrimage to the Holy Land from October 19 to 27.

Titled “The Second Mountain: From the Heart of Christ to the Heart of the People,” the retreat is being preached by Capuchin priest Fr Sundar Wilson, assistant director of Augraha Institute, Dindigul.

The retreat invites the jubilarians to reflect on their spiritual journeys, renew their relationship with Christ and rediscover the joy and meaning of priesthood after years of pastoral service.

Through reflections on vocation, healing, forgiveness, reconciliation and discernment, the programme encourages priests to attend to their spiritual and emotional well-being and deepen their commitment to pastoral ministry.

A central question guiding the retreat is: “What is God doing in me, before asking what He wants to do through me?”

The initiative seeks to accompany priests at significant milestones in their ministry, fostering spiritual maturity and renewed missionary commitment.
