Bhopal, May 29, 2026: In a significant initiative to strengthen the Church’s missionary outreach and pastoral coordination, the CCBI Commission for Proclamation organised a two-day M.P. Regional Training and Formation Programme at Seva Sadan, Bhopal, on May 27 and 28.
The programme, organised by the Regional Commission for Proclamation, focused on disseminating the Regional Strategic Pastoral Plan in harmony with the National Pastoral Plan, while fostering a unified pastoral vision among dioceses in the region.
Thirty-seven participants, including diocesan secretaries, members of the Pastoral Mission Team, and PMO in-charges from various dioceses of the M.P. Region, attended the formation gathering.
The sessions were led by Bishop Augustine of Khandwa, Chairman of the Commission, along with Associate Executive Secretary Fr. Raju Mathew and Fr. Alfred D’Souza, Assistant Director of Seva Sadan.
The programme commenced with a prayer service invoking the guidance of the Holy Spirit for the mission of proclamation in the region. Subsequent sessions highlighted the vision, objectives, and implementation strategies of the Regional Strategic Pastoral Plan at the diocesan level.
Resource persons reflected on themes such as evangelisation, pastoral planning, missionary leadership, and collaborative ministry within the Church. Particular emphasis was placed on encouraging each diocese to formulate its own Diocesan Pastoral Plan for Proclamation to ensure coordinated and effective missionary activities.
Interactive sessions, group discussions, and the sharing of pastoral experiences enriched the programme and enabled participants to reflect collectively on the Church’s mission in contemporary society.
The gathering witnessed an atmosphere of unity, commitment, and missionary zeal, with participants expressing renewed enthusiasm to strengthen proclamation efforts in their respective dioceses.
The programme concluded with a thanksgiving prayer, the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and a renewed commitment among participants to become active witnesses of the Gospel message.
