Jharsuguda, Odisha, January 16: The Catholic Mental Health Ministry (CMHM) has launched Dymphna Echo, a wellness magazine aimed at promoting mental wellbeing among Catholic priests and women religious across India.
CMHM, recognised as India’s largest Catholic mental health network, works at the grassroots to promote wellness among families, children, youth and the elderly. Responding to the increasing mental health challenges faced by priests and women religious, the ministry had earlier established the St. Dymphna National Institute of Wellness in 2024 to provide education, training, guidance and professional counselling focused on holistic wellbeing.
The launch of Dymphna Echo forms part of this wider initiative. The magazine seeks to foster mental health awareness while encouraging a culture of reading and reflection. It addresses the psychological, emotional, spiritual and pastoral dimensions of religious life, serving as a platform for education, inspiration and wellness-oriented formation.
The magazine was formally released by Bishop Nianjan Sual Sing at a programme held in Jharsuguda, in the presence of representatives from the Catholic mental health and healthcare ministries, along with priests and women religious from across Odisha.
Envisioned as a practical resource, Dymphna Echo aims to help priests and women religious rediscover focus, purpose and balance in their personal and ministerial lives through articles, reflections, professional insights and practical tools. The initiative complements the work of the St. Dymphna National Institute of Wellness, which remains open to priests and women religious nationwide, offering support for growth, healing and holistic wellbeing.
