Hazirabag, Nov 12, 2025: The newly constructed Multipurpose Community Hall at Balidih Parish, Hazirabag, was blessed and inaugurated by Bishop Anand Jojo of Hazaribag on 9 November, the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica, Rome. The ceremony, held in a spirit of faith and unity, drew more than two thousand faithful who gathered to witness the occasion and offer praise and thanksgiving to God for His blessings upon the parish community.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Bishop Anand Jojo and concelebrated by nearly twenty priests from various parishes of the Bokaro Deanery. In his homily, Bishop Jojo urged the faithful to uphold the spirit of unity and shared responsibility in the growth of the Church. He reminded the congregation that the new parish hall stands as a symbol of faith, love, and collective effort — a manifestation of the people’s commitment to the mission of the Church. The liturgy, marked by reverence and spiritual fervour, was enriched by the choir that led the congregation in hymns, filling the space with prayer and joy.
A key highlight of the occasion was the strong participation and generosity of the parishioners. The entire community contributed to realising the dream of the Multipurpose Community Hall through their donations. The faithful offered items for the church’s adornment and use — including the cross, fans, altar fittings, chairs, sanctuary furnishings, sound and lighting equipment, and other liturgical essentials. These freely given offerings reflected their devotion and commitment to the house of God, now enriching the sacred space with both beauty and faith.
Many guests and members of neighbouring parishes — including Bokaro, Jarangdih, Gomia, and others — also joined the occasion, reinforcing the unity and fraternity of the Bokaro Deanery and witnessing the strong bond that unites the Christian communities of the diocese. A vibrant cultural programme featuring devotional songs, dances, and performances by parishioners and youth groups expressed gratitude to God in a spirit of joy and unity.
The blessing of the Multipurpose Community Hall in this “Jubilee Year of Hope”, marked a significant milestone in the spiritual journey of the faithful. The leadership of Bishop Anand Jojo and the active participation of the clergy, laity, neighbouring parishes, and especially the parish priest Fr. Vijay Horo, along with parish members Fr. Anup Tete, Fr. I.C. Matthew, Regent Brother Binod Ekka, and the parish sodalities of men, women, youth, and children, made the occasion truly memorable and spiritually enriching.
