Chennai, October 21, 2025: “Bible Town,” a unique Bible exhibition, was held at St. Thomas National Shrine Cathedral, Chennai, on October 19 and 20. Organised as part of the Jubilee Year celebrations and Bible Month, it offered the faithful a spiritual and visual experience of “Journeying through the Bible as Pilgrims of Hope.” Conceptualised by Parish Priest Fr. Vincent Chinnadurai with the support of assistant priests and parish council members, the event featured creative exhibits, interactive activities, and biblical-themed zones that brought Scripture to life.
The exhibition was artistically arranged into ten thematic zones, each representing a key stage in Salvation History: 1. Creation Street, 2. Patriarch Avenue, 3. Exodus Square, 4. Promised Land, 5. Prophets’ Plaza, 6. Wisdom Lane, 7. Gospel Street, 8. Apostles’ Road, 9. Church Tradition Turn, and 10. Revelation Corner.
Each pavilion was prepared and presented by parishioners from different zones, who creatively displayed models, artworks, and biblical symbols related to their themes.
The Good Samaritan Group added a special touch with a “Biblical Restaurant,” serving foods mentioned in Scripture—such as bread, grapes, figs, and dates—allowing visitors to “taste the Bible.”
To make the experience more engaging, catechism teachers and children organised Bible-based games, quizzes, and activities that encouraged active participation. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul arranged a big-screen projection inside the church hall, screening short films on biblical themes for visitors.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Fr. Vincent Chinnadurai, Parish Priest of the Cathedral. The various pavilions were evaluated by Fr. D. J. Sagayaraj, Principal of St. Bede’s School, and Fr. John Moses, Assistant Parish Priest.
The event attracted a large crowd of parishioners, pilgrims, visitors, and people from other faiths, all of whom enjoyed the creative exhibits, games, biblical foods, and films with great enthusiasm.
