Bible Exhibition Illuminates the Word of God at Our Lady of Vailankanni Church, Bhadravati

Bhadravati, 8 April 2025 — As part of the Jubilee Year 2025 celebrations, Our Lady of Vailankanni Church, Gandhinagar, Bhadravati, is hosting an inspiring Bible Exhibition from 6th to 8th April. The event marked a significant milestone in the parish’s spiritual journey, offering an immersive and creative exploration of the Holy Scriptures.

The exhibition featured the entire Bible presented in 11 uniquely designed segments, each curated by one of the 11 Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs). Every segment showcased artistic creativity, theological insight, and a deep reverence for the Word of God.

Bishop Francis Serrao SJ of Shimoga, inaugurated the exhibition through a video message. The ceremony included the formal opening of the Holy Bible, and a symbolic reading of Scripture. Fr. Simon Pinto, Diocesan Coordinator of all Commissions; Fr. Steevan D’Sa, Parish Priest; and Sr. Wilma Rebello, Superior of St. Charles Borromeo Convent, graced the event. In his address, Fr. Simon praised the parish for its love and commitment to Scripture.

Visitors flowed steadily into the exhibition space over the three days, expressing awe and inspiration. Many said the displays deepened their understanding of the Bible and rekindled their love for God’s Word. The exhibits offered an educational and spiritually enriching experience through models, charts, biblical figures, and maps.

The event also strengthened unity among BEC members, fostering collaboration and deepening their spiritual commitment. The creative process and shared mission enhanced their zeal for evangelisation.

The Parish Bible Commission, under the leadership of Sr. Theresa Mascarenhas SCB, meticulously planned and executed the event. Sr. Theresa’s vision and dedication played a vital role in bringing the exhibition to life. Fr. Steevan D’Sa provided consistent spiritual guidance and support throughout the planning stages.

The Bible Exhibition stood as a joyful and spiritually uplifting event, rekindling a passion for the Scriptures among the faithful and making the Word of God a tangible, visual, and memorable encounter.
