Bettiah Diocese Hosts Bible Festival for Children

Padri Dussaiya, 23 September 2025: The Diocese of Bettiah organised its Diocesan Bible Festival for Children at Sewa Kendra, Padri Dussaiya, from 19th to 21st September 2025, bringing together 95 children from different parishes to nurture love for the Word of God and strengthen their faith—the foundation of Christian living.

The festival was inaugurated by Fr. Finton Sah, Vicar General, who encouraged the children to deepen their faith through active participation. In preparation, parish-level Bible Festivals were held, from which children were chosen to take part in the diocesan event. Over three days, participants engaged in a variety of creative and faith-nurturing activities, including Bible one-act plays, dramas, dances, songs, drawings on biblical themes, Bible word-searching, and Bible quotation competitions.

The festival bore abundant fruit as many children began the daily practice of Bible reading, inspiring their families as well. Some even expressed a desire to start Bible Groups in their parishes, spreading the spirit of the event further.

The highlight of this year’s celebration was the selection of children who will now represent the Diocese of Bettiah at the Regional Bible Festival at NJN, Patna, from 28th September to 2nd October 2025.

The programme was coordinated by Fr. Tobias Toppo, Diocesan Director of the Biblical Commission, assisted by Sr. Venus MJ, Sr. Lalitha SHS, Fr. Vincent Kujur, Fr. Bimal Minj, Fr. Surendra Ekka, and Fr. Sandeep Ekka, along with parish animators.

The Bible Festival not only sowed seeds of faith and love for the Scriptures in young hearts but also inspired parish communities to rediscover the value of God’s Word in daily life.
