Bengaluru, December 3, 2025 — All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) Karnataka celebrated AICUF Day and Constitution Day with a state-level programme titled Samatva – Rhythms of Unity in Diversity at St Joseph’s Pre-University College, Bengaluru, bringing together student representatives from AICUF units across Karnataka to promote constitutional values, social awareness and youth leadership through reflection, interaction and cultural expression.
The event gathered distinguished guests from the fields of governance, law, education and arts. Chief Guest Smt Margaret Alva, veteran parliamentarian and Senior AICUFER, shared insights from her public life and early association with AICUF, encouraging students to uphold justice, equality and compassion in their leadership roles. Senior Advocate Ravi Varma Kumar, former Advocate General of Karnataka, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the Constitution as a vital instrument safeguarding the rights of marginalised communities.
A thematic address by Fr. Jesu Benjamine SJ, National Advisor of AICUF, highlighted the movement’s mission and urged students to lead with commitment, integrity and service. A Constitutional Awareness segment, facilitated by Shaik Salman and the AICUF State Council, enabled participants to engage interactively with themes of democratic responsibility and citizen participation.
The programme also featured an Inter-College Cultural Competition, where performances in dance, mime, street theatre and short skits showcased the diversity and social concerns of youth across the state. Judges Danny Kanikaraj, actor and choreographer, and Bharatanatyam artiste Hema commended the creativity and social relevance displayed by the teams.
The celebration concluded with a valedictory ceremony addressed by Dr K. Ramachandra Paul, retired Deputy Commissioner of Police, followed by the presentation of certificates and trophies. A group photograph captured the unity and enthusiasm that marked the day, which left participants enriched and motivated to uphold constitutional values while celebrating the diversity central to the AICUF movement.
