Tirupathur, October 11, 2025: The Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission conducted a district-level consultation meeting at the Tirupathur District Collectorate on October 8, under the chairmanship of Fr. Joe Arun, S.J. The session focused on addressing petitions and grievances raised by minority communities across the district.
Key issues discussed included school staff appointments, minority status certification, scholarships, recognition for minority institutions, TET examination clarifications, free textbooks for Tamil-medium students, renovation funds for mosques, establishment of skill training centres, interest-free loans, protection of Buddhist monuments, and basic infrastructure for cemeteries.
In a notable outcome, more than 70% of the petitions were resolved on the spot through the coordinated efforts of the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, and government officials—earning strong appreciation from the participants.
Speaking to the media, Fr. Joe Arun, S.J. said the Commission, guided by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister, and Minority Welfare Minister Naser, remains dedicated to safeguarding the rights and welfare of minority citizens. “The Commission serves as a bridge between the people and the government, ensuring prompt and just action,” he stated.
Fr. Joe added that the Commission has so far visited 34 districts, resolving nearly 80% of the issues raised during similar consultations. He commended the Tirupathur administration for its efficient coordination and commitment to public service.
