Rajanagar, 20 November 2025 — A four-day spiritual retreat for six Adivasi villages of St Joseph Catholic Church, Rajanagar, was held from 8 to 11 November at Kherm Pathar village church, bringing together communities from Kherm Mura, Kherm Pani, Khauji Pathar, Uchabam, and Koria Pani. The gathering, animated by Bro. John Bagh and the team from Jesus Come Ministry, Athabari Prayer Centre, Dibrugarh, aimed to strengthen faith, communal unity, and spiritual renewal among the participating villages.
Over the course of the retreat, large numbers of faithful set aside their regular tea-garden work to participate in prayer services, scriptural reflection, praise sessions, and periods of fasting. Daily adoration and worship created an atmosphere of collective devotion and deep engagement.
Parish priest Fr. Joseph Kindo SDB celebrated the Holy Mass, which formed the liturgical centre of the retreat. A significant highlight followed on 10 November with the Sacrament of Reconciliation, during which visiting priests assisted in hearing confessions, offering many participants a moment of peace and renewed spiritual clarity.
The programme also allowed ample time for silence and personal reflection, helping individuals reconnect with God and discern their own spiritual direction. Held during the Jubilee Year, the retreat encouraged the faithful to reaffirm their commitment to Christian values, mutual support, and community life.
The four-day gathering concluded with strengthened bonds among the village communities and a renewed sense of spiritual purpose, marking it as a meaningful moment of collective renewal for the Rajanagar parish.
