Amravati, April 10, 2025 — In a spiritually moving initiative organised by the Diocese of Amravati, the film “Face of the Faceless”, based on the life and martyrdom of Blessed Sr. Rani Maria, was screened across four zones of the diocese from April 4 to April 7, 2025. The screenings took place in the Paratwada, Akola, Amravati, and Melghat Zones of the diocese, drawing hundreds of faithful from each region and inspiring renewed devotion and reflection.
The campaign began with a screening of the film on April 4 in the Paratwada Zone. This was followed by a screening in the Akola Zone on April 5, in the Amravati Zone on April 6, and in the Melghat Zone on April 7. Each event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Bp. Malcolm Sequeira, Bishop of Amravati; Dr. Shaison P. Ouseph (Director of the film); Sr. Prabha (Provincial Supervisor of FCC Amala Province, Bhopal); Sr. Starly (Former Provincial of FCC during the time of Sr. Rani Maria’s martyrdom); and Dr. Sr. Rachita (Superintendent of Dayasagar, Amravati), alongside numerous priests, religious sisters, and lay faithful.
During his addresses at each screening, Bishop Sequeira emphasised the importance of sharing Sr. Rani Maria’s witness of faith, courage, and forgiveness, especially with the younger generation. The film, which powerfully depicts her service among the poor and her martyrdom, resonated deeply with the audiences, many of whom expressed being spiritually moved and inspired to live a life of Christ-like compassion and conviction.
All dignitaries were felicitated during each screening in recognition of their contributions and presence. Following each screening, Dr. Shaison Ouseph and Sr. Prabha offered brief but heartfelt reflections, expressing gratitude to Bishop Sequeira and the teams from each zone for facilitating such an impactful experience. They also highlighted the role of modern media in promoting stories of faith and sacrifice.
Bishop Sequeira extended special thanks to the Director of the Diocesan Media and Communication Team and all those who diligently coordinated the screening events in each zone. He praised their efforts in ensuring that the screenings were not just cinematic events, but moments of grace and spiritual renewal for the diocese.
The screening campaign stands as a testament to the power of visual storytelling in evangelisation and community building. Through the life and legacy of Blessed Sr. Rani Maria, the Diocese of Amravati continues to encourage its faithful to embody courage, compassion, and unwavering faith.
