Rediscover Each Other and Start Afresh: A Lifeline of Hope for Married Couples

Mumbai, August 31, 2026: Marriage is one of God's most beautiful gifts: a sacred covenant founded on love, trust, sacrifice and lifelong commitment. Yet even the strongest marriages can encounter difficult periods.

Marriage Can Face Difficult Seasons

Misunderstandings, communication breakdowns, unresolved disagreements, financial pressures, family responsibilities and the demands of modern life can gradually create distance between husband and wife.

For couples experiencing challenges in their relationship, however, there is hope. Sometimes, a marriage simply needs an opportunity to pause, reconnect and rediscover the love that first brought two people together.

Retrouvaille offers a confidential and caring programme designed to help married couples rebuild trust, improve communication and begin afresh.

What Is Retrouvaille?

The word Retrouvaille, pronounced “Re-tro-vai”, is a French term meaning “rediscovery”. The programme has helped thousands of couples in India and around the world who are experiencing difficulties in their marriages.

Retrouvaille is not marriage counselling, group therapy or a retreat where participants are expected to share their personal difficulties publicly. Instead, it provides practical tools and guided exercises that allow couples to communicate more effectively, understand one another more deeply and work towards rebuilding their relationship step by step.

The programme offers a safe, supportive and confidential environment where couples can focus on their marriage and explore a path towards healing and renewed hope.

A Courageous Step Towards Healing

The Catholic Church recognises marriage as a lifelong vocation and encourages couples to seek support when they encounter difficulties. Asking for help is not a sign of failure. Rather, it can be an expression of courage and a commitment to protecting and strengthening the sacred bond of marriage.

Retrouvaille offers a compassionate pathway for couples who wish to heal old wounds, reconnect with one another and move forward together.

Retrouvaille Weekend Programme 2026

The upcoming Retrouvaille Weekend Programme will take place from 25 to 27 September 2026 at the Sarvodaya Centre for Capacity Building, St Pius X College Complex, Gate No. 3, Off Virwani Industrial Estate Road, Goregaon (East), Mumbai.

Couples seeking further information may contact the Snehalaya Family Centre on 9321179831 between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm, or email retrouvaille.mumbai@gmail.com. Further details are also available on the programme's website.

Every marriage encounters storms. Yet with faith, commitment and the right support, relationships can be renewed and strengthened. Sometimes, all that is needed is the opportunity to rediscover each other — and the courage to start afresh.
