The Holy Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Fr. Abe Khura, Parish Priest. Delivering the homily, Fr. Dhiren Nayak highlighted the enduring faith and strength of St. Monica, who through her constant prayer and perseverance led her son, St. Augustine, to embrace Christ. He reminded the congregation that every mother, following St. Monica’s example, is called to be a beacon of prayer, sacrifice, and unconditional love within her family.

The parish community expressed heartfelt appreciation for mothers, extending warm wishes and gratitude for their guidance and sacrifices. As part of the celebration, parish youth honoured their mothers in a special way by presenting them with gifts, symbols of love, respect, and blessings.

Beyond being a cultural and family occasion, the celebration served as a moment of spiritual renewal for the faithful. It reinforced the reminder that mothers are the first teachers of faith, the heart of the family, and instruments of God’s love. Prayers were also offered for all mothers—living and departed—entrusting them to the intercession of St. Monica.

The day concluded in an atmosphere of joy and thanksgiving, strengthening family bonds while renewing the parish’s commitment to live in faith, prayer, and unity. The commemoration of St. Monica thus became both a tribute to motherhood and a reaffirmation of the parish community’s devotion and gratitude.
