Preran Shibir Inspires Youth Across Karwar Diocese

Karwar, Karnataka, April 12, 2026 — In a concerted effort to deepen faith formation among young people, the Commission for Faith Formation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Karwar successfully organised a five-day Preran Shibir across three centres from April 6 to 10, drawing enthusiastic participation and fostering vibrant spiritual engagement.

Held under the guidance of Bishop Duming Dias, the initiative brought together youth from various parts of the diocese for a programme marked by prayer, reflection, and community-building. The Bishop’s encouragement, along with the support of diocesan clergy, ensured the smooth and effective conduct of the camp.

A dedicated team of priests, including Fr. Gabriel, Fr. Cyprian, Fr. Silvan, Fr. Ronny Rodrigues, Fr. Sachin, and Fr. Stewart, coordinated the programme in collaboration with deans and Faith Formation coordinators from different deaneries. Their leadership and close involvement contributed significantly to the camp’s success.

The organisers also expressed appreciation for the generous support of seminarians, religious sisters, women’s associations, and lay faithful, whose collective efforts strengthened the initiative. Key institutions, including Mother Teresa School Yellapur and Holy Rosary School Honavar, along with the HRC Sisters and staff of Puneeth Sadan, extended hospitality and logistical assistance throughout the event.

The Preran Shibir concluded as a spiritually enriching and formative experience, leaving participants renewed in faith and inspired toward a deeper commitment to Christian living.
