Pope Leo XIV's New Book 'The Power of the Gospel: Christian Faith in 10 Words' Released

Vatican City, 20 November 2025 — Pope Leo XIV has released a new volume titled The Power of the Gospel: Christian Faith in 10 Words, published by the Vatican Publishing House and edited by Lorenzo Fazzini. The book gathers the Pope’s reflections from various speeches and writings, offering a concise yet profound presentation of ten key words that illuminate the heart of Christian faith.

In the introduction, Pope Leo XIV explains his intention in choosing these ten themes, writing:

“Ten words. Ten words are not many, but they can start a conversation on the richness of Christian life. Hence, in order to start it, I would like to choose three of these 10 words, as the beginning of an imaginary dialogue … Christ, communion, peace.”

The Pope underscores a central message: Christianity is not a human attempt to reach a distant God but an act of welcoming Christ into one’s life. He notes,

“Faith is precisely this … the discovery that God’s face is not distant from our hearts.”

He also reflects on the unity of the Church expressed through its diversity, describing it not as disorder but as a harmony of different vocations—“roses of martyrs,” “lilies of virgins,” “ivy of married people,” and “violets of widows.”

Through accessible language and spiritually rich insights, The Power of the Gospel offers a doorway into the Pope’s vision of faith lived through simplicity, communion, and peace.

The book is positioned as a guide for believers and seekers alike, inviting readers to rediscover the Gospel’s relevance in daily life and to see Christian faith through themes that are “capable of opening the heart to God’s living presence.”
