Poona Diocese Hosts Altar Servers Rally

Poona, November 8, 2025:

The much-awaited Altar Servers Rally for 2025 was held on November 5 at St. Joseph’s Convent Girls School, bringing together 422 altar servers from various parishes across the Diocese of Poona for a day of faith formation, fellowship, and celebration of their ministry in the Church.

Fr. Stanley Fernandes led a session on “The Importance of the Eucharist and the Rosary,” deepening the altar servers’ understanding of their sacred role and encouraging devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Eucharistic Celebration, presided by Diocesan Administrator Fr. Roque Alphonso, was the spiritual highlight of the day. In his homily, he reminded the young servers of the beauty and dignity of serving at the Lord’s Table and urged them to live their faith with joy and reverence.

The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony recognising outstanding participation.

The rally proved to be a faith-filled experience, rekindling the altar servers’ zeal for service and reminding them that their ministry is a sacred privilege that brings them closer to Christ.
