Majiwada, thane, November 30, 2025: In a heartening move to strengthen scriptural engagement, Our Lady of Fatima Church in Majiwada has successfully concluded a three-month Bible Study programme on the Gospel according to St. Luke. The sessions, held every Sunday, were conducted by Deacon Everest Mascarenhas under the leadership of Parish Priest Fr. Christopher Pereira.
The series centred on the Gospel of Luke, renowned for its themes of compassion, healing, and the universality of Christ’s message. Since the study began, the programme has drawn an enthusiastic and steady participation, with around 40–50 parishioners attending regularly. Many participants have spoken of noticeable spiritual renewal, highlighting a deepened sense of purpose and a stronger connection with the Word of God.
To mark the culmination of this phase, the parish recently organised a full-day gathering that brought together Bible study, a quiz competition, and interactive games. The event fostered learning, fellowship, and a joyful celebration of faith and community life.
Deacon Everest’s engaging teaching style and pastoral warmth have played a significant role in the programme’s impact. His method encourages reflection, discussion, and practical application of scripture, helping parishioners integrate biblical teaching into their daily lives.
This initiative serves as an encouraging example for other parishes, particularly at a time when spiritual formation and biblical literacy are increasingly vital. By creating opportunities for shared learning and spiritual growth, churches can build stronger and more informed communities of faith.
As the Bible Study continues in the months ahead, Our Lady of Fatima Parish stands out as a beacon of renewal and inspiration — a reminder that the Word of God remains alive, transformative, and meant to be shared.
