Vasai, October 27, 2025 — The Diocese of Vasai concluded its XI Diocesan Youth Convention 2025 at Atmashodh Darshan Kendra, Sandor, bringing together 135 young delegates, priests and religious from five deaneries for a four-day faith formation event held from 20 to 23 October on the theme “Walking with the Lord, Witnessing His Love” (John 15:27).
Bishop Thomas D’Souza inaugurated the convention with the Holy Eucharist, urging the youth to face the challenges of today as “warriors of faith”. Throughout the four days, the programme featured keynote sessions, policy discussions, workshops, testimonies, prayer moments, cultural evenings and a synodal-style drafting of the diocesan youth policy.
A key milestone of the convention was the unanimous approval of the revised Diocesan Youth Policy, prepared through consultations and presented by the youth themselves — marking a major step forward in youth leadership and participation in Church mission.
The convention concluded with a walking pilgrimage to St. Gonsalo Garcia Church, Killa Bunder, followed by the closing Eucharist, during which transformed delegates shared moving testimonies of faith renewal. The Youth Policy Message was formally presented to Bishop Thomas D’Souza.
Youth Director Fr. Christopher Vaz, on behalf of Yuvadarshan, expressed gratitude to the diocesan leadership, clergy, animators and volunteers, affirming that the convention strengthened the youth to witness Christ’s love with courage, unity and commitment.
