Massive Turnout for Fatima Convention in Raiganj Diocese

Raiganj, West Bengal, October 27, 2025 — The Diocese of Raiganj hosted its 16th Annual Fatima Convention on October 25 at St Joseph’s Cathedral Church, drawing more than 2,000 participants — far exceeding the 1,600 registered attendees — for a day of prayer, catechesis and Marian devotion.

Fr Sunny Menonkattil, who has been instrumental in promoting the World Apostolate of Fatima (WAF) in the diocese and across India, said the devotion to Our Lady of Fatima is steadily growing in the region “through God’s grace and the intercession of Mother Mary.”

The World Apostolate of Fatima — also known as the Blue Army — is a Vatican-recognised Catholic movement that promotes the Fatima message through prayer, consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and a life of holiness. Founded in 1947 in the United States, it was officially recognised by the Holy See as a public international association of the faithful in 2005.
