Hyderabad, Aug. 30, 2025 – Over 500 young Catholics from parishes across the Archdiocese of Hyderabad came together at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Ramnagar, on Sunday, August 24, to celebrate National Youth Sunday under the theme “Witness of a Witness”. Organised by the Youth Commission of the Archdiocese, the celebration aimed to inspire the youth to live as vibrant witnesses of Christ through prayer, fellowship, learning, and joyful celebration.

CATECHETICAL DIPLOMA COURSE!
THE SOUL OF THE LITURGY: MUSIC IN THE SERVICE OF THE SACRED

The day began with a solemn Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Vijay Joseph, a charismatic preacher. The liturgy of the Mass was animated by the youth. Several priests and youth leaders from the archdiocese graced the occasion with their presence. Prominent dignitaries included Fr. Jerome (Youth Director, Archdiocese of Hyderabad), Fr. Sleevaraj SDB (Youth Director, Telugu Region), and Fr. Praveen OFM (Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Church).

As the main resource person and keynote speaker for the day, Fr. Vijay Joseph addressed the youth on the call to be true witnesses of Christ in today’s world. His talk also explored contemporary issues such as mental health and artificial intelligence, topics of great relevance to young people.

The celebration featured games, fun activities, and a fellowship meal, fostering friendship and a spirit of community among participants. In the evening, the Archdiocesan Gospel Band and the Revelation Band led a deeply moving session of Eucharistic Adoration and procession through powerful music and worship, creating an atmosphere of prayer and devotion.

The event concluded with a final blessing and words of encouragement from Rev. Fr. Bala Showry, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad, who urged the youth to continue their mission of being living witnesses of Christ in the modern world.

With over 500 young participants, the event powerfully showcased the vibrancy, unity, and deep faith of Catholic youth in the Archdiocese of Hyderabad—affirming once again that the Church remains alive, dynamic, and young at heart.
