Music Connect Launches at Sandesha, Uniting Musicians Across Disciplines

Mangaluru, September 7, 2025 – Music Connect, an initiative of Sandesha Foundation in collaboration with Music Book, was launched this evening at Sandesha Kalakendra, Mangaluru. The debut gathering brought together artists, composers, producers, audio engineers, video editors, studio professionals and music enthusiasts, creating a new platform for collaboration and networking in the music industry.

Welcoming participants, Fr. Sudeep Paul MSFS, Director of Sandesha, explained that Music Connect was built on a simple idea: “Where music minds meet.” He observed that too often those in the field work in isolation, missing opportunities for partnership. “This platform seeks to change that,” he said, describing it as a space to network, exchange ideas, discover talent and build meaningful collaborations.

Calling the launch “more than just an event,” Fr. Sudeep stressed that it marked the beginning of a movement to strengthen the music ecosystem and celebrate music as a bridge connecting people, cultures and creativity.

Mr. Melroy Fernandes, founder of the Music Book app, compared Music Connect to a business networking platform. “A BNI-kind of event should happen in music, and we as a team should lead the way by making such gatherings happen repeatedly,” he said, urging consistency in creating a sustainable ecosystem for musicians.

The interactive session highlighted the enthusiasm and ambitions of participants:

  • One pledged to release a song by next month, demonstrating the workshop’s immediate impact.

  • Another noted that collaboration in music is rare: “Networking is a key piece for collaboration. AI music is trending, but it is taking away the quality of music.”

  • A composer from Honnavar, with five albums to his credit, travelled specially for the event, showing its reach beyond Mangaluru.

  • A keyboardist shared that music was his escape from stress: “One side of my desk has a laptop, the other side a piano—together they bring me relief.”

  • A musician once rejected in the field said perseverance now allowed him to perform widely, and he was eager to connect with like-minded peers.

  • A young flautist expressed her desire to perform at events, but regretted the lack of platforms to showcase her talent.

  • Several participants remarked that Music Connect gave them a sense of belonging, with one delighted to finally find a community of fellow musicians.

The event closed with participants setting goals for the next meet, committing to songs, projects and collaborations in the coming months. Many expressed hope that Music Connect would become a regular platform for growth and creativity.

With its strong beginning, Music Connect has already sparked a shared sense of purpose, promising to grow into a hub where musicians not only meet but also create together.
