Bhopal, August 23, 2025 – Responding to Pope Leo XIV’s appeal for a day of prayer and fasting, the Madhya Pradesh Regional Youth Commission organised a one-hour prayer meeting dedicated to world peace.
The gathering opened with a brief introduction, outlining the purpose of the initiative and setting the tone for a reflective evening. Participants then recited the Rosary, offering intentions with each mystery as a collective plea for harmony across nations.
The session continued with a reflection on the Word of God from Isaiah 9:1–6, which emphasised the promise of peace and the coming of a great light. This passage was highlighted as a source of hope and encouragement in the face of ongoing global conflicts.
An intercessory prayer followed, during which participants raised intentions for peace, unity, and reconciliation worldwide. The prayer meeting concluded with an expression of thanksgiving, after which Fr. Joshy, Regional Youth Director for the Madhya Pradesh region, imparted a final blessing.
Organisers and attendees described the event as a meaningful expression of solidarity with the Pope’s global appeal. By coming together in prayer, the youth of Madhya Pradesh sought not only to invoke peace but also to embody it within their communities.
The initiative was seen as both a spiritual response and a gesture of unity, reflecting the Church’s continuing call for compassion and reconciliation in troubled times.
