Liturgical Formation and Renewal Promoted at the Grassroots

Patna, March 9, 2024: The Bihar Regional Liturgy Commission for Liturgy organized two days seminar for the Diocesan Liturgy Commissions and for the Parish Liturgical Teams in the Region on 27^th and 28^th January 2024 and from 1^st of March (6 pm) to 3^rd March (4 pm) March 2024 respectively. 27 Participants from Bhagalpur, Purnea, Bettiah, Buxar Dioceses and Patna Archdiocese attended the seminar conducted for the Diocesan Liturgy Commissions while 80 Participants from Buxar, Bettiah, Muzzaffarpur Dioceses and Patna Archdiocese attended the seminar conducted for the Parish Liturgical Teams. Both the seminars were held at Bihar Regional Pastoral Centre, Navjyoti Niketan, Patna. Fr. Alex V, Regional Secretary of the Liturgy Commission was the resource person.

The Seminar included an overview of an Apostolic Letter of Pope Francis, Desiderio Desideravi, Redemptionis Sacramentum, an Instruction on certain matters to be observed or to be avoided regarding the Most Holy Eucharist by Pope John Paul II, the Sacrament of the Eucharist with a special reference to General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM) and the meaning of the various liturgical gestures and postures. Everyone appreciated that these seminars were indeed an experience of the celebration of the paschal mystery with a sense of beauty and devotion aiming at the transformation of the individuals and that of the community. It was a felt need to bring about a change, renewal and revival in order to regulate the liturgical celebration in the Bihar Region.
