Kerala Region Directors Align Pastoral Priorities with National Vision

Ernakulam, February 26, 2026 — A spirit of discernment and coordinated planning marked the Kerala Region Directors’ Meeting held on February 24 at Ashirbhavan Pastoral Centre, where Church leaders gathered to align regional pastoral priorities with the national vision for ministry.

The meeting brought together regional directors and national representatives to reflect on the future direction of pastoral initiatives, with a particular focus on harmonising local action with broader ecclesial objectives. Presenting the Pastoral Plan 2033 via an online platform, Fr. George Jacob, National Secretary, outlined a dual-track approach rooted in “Simultaneous Action” and “Synergy.” He emphasised the importance of parallel planning at national and regional levels to ensure that grassroots initiatives contribute meaningfully to the long-term pastoral roadmap.

Delivering the keynote address, Fr. Jiju Arakathara, Secretary General of the KRLCC, highlighted the need for stronger integration of ministries. He underscored the central role of Basic Ecclesial Communities in fostering participatory faith life and nurturing spiritual growth at the grassroots.

The gathering also extended birthday greetings to Mr. Mathew Linchen Roy, Kerala Region Associate Secretary and National Service Team member, reflecting the collegial spirit that characterised the proceedings.

Through structured deliberations, participants identified priority pastoral goals for 2026–2027, distinguishing between immediate and long-term objectives. A time-bound implementation framework was formulated to guide coordinated action across the region.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment among directors to translate the shared vision into concrete pastoral initiatives within their respective sectors.
