Kochi, 8 December 2025 — Latin Catholic Day was celebrated across parishes of the Latin Church in Kerala, where the community came together under the leadership of the Kerala Region Latin Catholic Council (KRLCC) to highlight unity and reaffirm their collective identity through coordinated events and public gatherings.
At the Varapuzha Archdiocesan Bishop’s House, Archbishop Joseph Kalathiparambil inaugurated the celebrations by hoisting the KRLCC flag. The gathering was addressed by Bishop Antony Valumkal, KRLCC Vice-President Joseph Jude, General Secretary Fr. Jiju Arackathara, Kerala Latin Catholic Association (KLCA) President Adv Sherry J Thomas, General Secretary Biju Jose, Fr. Mathew Kallingal, Shaji George, Adv Justin Karippat and Fr. Ebijin Arackal, who reflected on the significance of the day for the community.
Speakers emphasised the role of KRLCC as the coordinating and policy-forming body for Latin Catholics in Kerala and highlighted the importance of unity, representation and continued engagement with social and developmental concerns affecting the community.
Celebrations were held in parishes across the state, marking Latin Catholic Day as a moment of collective identity, solidarity and renewed commitment to community welfare.
