KCYM Youth Stage Anti-Drug Flashmob in Fort Kochi

Fort Kochi, September 30, 2026: Young people from the KCYM Diocese of Cochin took their anti-drug message to the streets with a flashmob and public awareness programme at Fort Kochi Beach, drawing attention to the dangers of drug abuse.

Organised by KCYM Diocese of Cochin, the programme sought to mobilise young people in the fight against drug abuse and encourage greater public awareness. A flashmob presented by KCYM members became the main attraction, engaging visitors and the local public at the beach.

KCYM Diocese of Cochin President Daniya Antony presided over the programme, which was inaugurated by Anjana R., Sub-Inspector of Fort Kochi Police Station.

Addressing the gathering, Anjana commended the youth for taking an active role in anti-drug initiatives. She noted that government agencies have been conducting narcotics raids as part of efforts to curb drug trafficking and stressed that public awareness and community participation are essential to addressing the problem.

KCYM Diocese of Cochin Assistant Director Fr Jinil Kaitheth, Vice President Jeeva Regi, Secretary-in-charge Dias Antony, Executive Member Adv. Tom Antony and Arun Peter addressed the gathering.

Animator Sr. Mini George, Treasurer George Jickson, Secretary Sanoop Das, Akshaya Maria and Executive Members Alwin Joseph and Alan Joseph were present.
