KCYM Ponel Unit Marks 50 Years With Twin Jubilee Celebration

Ponel, Kerala, October 2025: The Golden Jubilee of the KCYM Ponel Unit and the Silver Jubilee of the KCYM Ponel Stage were joyfully celebrated with great reverence, gratitude, and fellowship, marking a milestone moment in the history of the parish youth community.

The celebration began with the recitation of the Holy Rosary followed by the Holy Eucharist, led by Fr. Antony Bibu Kadamparambil (Parish Vicar), Fr. Tijo Thomas Kolothumveettil, and Deacon Ashik. The liturgical celebration set a deeply spiritual tone, invoking God’s blessings on all past and present members of the KCYM Ponel family.

The official inauguration of the Golden Jubilee celebration was carried out by Adv. Antony Judy, former ICYM National President and former KCYM Archdiocesan President of Verapoly.

KCYM Ponel Unit President Joyna Thomas presided over the event, while Unit Secretary Hridya Rose presented the annual report, highlighting the year’s faith-filled initiatives and community outreach efforts.

In his keynote address, Fr. Antony Bibu Kadamparambil reflected on the vibrant journey of KCYM Ponel over five decades, commending the youth for their enduring commitment to the Church’s mission and the Gospel values of service and unity.

Fr. Antony Koppandasheri delivered the memorial speech, recalling the contributions of those who laid the foundation of the unit’s enduring legacy.

Distinguished guests and leaders, including KCYM Verapoly Archdiocesan President Rajeev Patric, former President Justin K.J., Animator Sr. Beena M.S.C., and Deacon Ashik, conveyed their felicitations.

The highlight of the event was the honouring of former office bearers and pioneers who had served and guided the organization over the years. Their dedication, leadership, and service were recognized as the cornerstone of KCYM Ponel’s growth and spiritual vitality.

The Golden and Silver Jubilee celebrations became a living testimony to the strength of Catholic youth leadership, community spirit, and faith in action — a joyful reminder that the mission of KCYM continues to flourish through the hearts of young believers committed to building a Church of service and hope.
