Kalaburagi, December 28, 2024: The Mother of Divine Grace Cathedral in Kalaburagi celebrated Christmas with an awe-inspiring event as the world’s largest Christmas star, standing 200 feet tall, illuminated the festivities. Constructed on the grounds of St. Mary School, this record-breaking structure earned a prestigious place in the Limca Book of Records. Thousands of visitors flocked to witness this extraordinary display, which became the centerpiece of the celebrations.
The star, a beacon of hope and unity, was brought to life under the meticulous guidance of Fr. Joseph Praveen, Parish Priest of the Cathedral Church, with creative direction by Dr. Kiran. The collaborative effort behind its construction showcased the power of teamwork and inclusivity, as people from diverse faiths came together to create this marvel.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the church grounds featured a beautifully crafted Nativity crib with life-sized figures, including a striking depiction of baby Jesus. Open throughout the day, the crib attracted thousands of visitors, delighting their senses while spreading the message of Christmas- peace, love and goodwill.
Bishop Robert Miranda, along with priests, religious sisters and parish volunteers, played an active role in the event, ensuring that every visitor felt welcomed and cared for. Their dedication embodied the true essence of Christmas, emphasizing service and love for the community.
