Meghpal, Odisha, November 23, 2025: Fr. Paul Adappoor, Parish Priest of St. Teresa of Child Jesus Church in Meghpal, Odisha, has issued a deeply personal note of gratitude to supporters and well-wishers who stood by him during what he describes as the most difficult period of his life. Following an accident and his subsequent time in custody, he said the overwhelming support he received became his “light and strength” in a time marked by fear, confusion, and distress.
Fr. Adappoor recounted how friends and well-wishers rallied around him immediately after the incident, offering assistance and reassurance. He expressed particular thanks to Mr. Sumit Agrawal and Mr. Pauly and his family for their timely and generous financial help, emotional backing, and unwavering presence when he needed it most.
He went on to acknowledge a circle of individuals whose visits, guidance, and prayers sustained him throughout his custody. Among them were Fr. Nabin Kerketta, Fr. Dilip Dungdung, and Fr. Johny Antony, whose spiritual support brought comfort. He also recognised Mr. Kuldeep, Mr. Rajesh Ekka (BDO), and Mr. Sudarshan Sahu (former Chairman) for their constant encouragement, and Advocate James Kerketta for his counsel.
Miss Anna Minz (LIC) and Mr. Benedict Lakra were thanked for their professional consideration, while Mr. T. Dehuri, the Jail Superintendent, received appreciation for his kindness during Fr. Adappoor’s stay, which helped ease his distress.
Fr. Adappoor placed strong emphasis on the critical legal and political support he received. He attributed his successful bail to Advocate Dr. Pramod Rath, whose expertise and tireless efforts he credited for achieving what had initially seemed impossible. He also offered special gratitude to Mr. Joji George for mobilising essential political backing at a crucial time.
Reflecting on his experience, the priest said the ordeal had transformed his outlook, strengthening his trust in the power of community, friendship, and family. He expressed heartfelt thanks to CRI Jharsuguda for their ongoing support, noting that every visit, prayer, and message reminded him that he was valued and cared for.
With optimism for the road ahead, Fr. Adappoor said he now faces the future with renewed spirit because of the solidarity shown to him. He expressed his eagerness to personally thank each supporter and repay the kindness he received.
He concluded his message with deep appreciation:
“Thank you for standing by me, not just as friends, but as true pillars of support.”
