Agra, August 31, 2025— The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Agra, celebrated International Youth Day on 24 August with great enthusiasm, recognising the energy, faith, and vital role of the younger generation in the life of the Church.
Echoing the words of Pope Francis, “Youth are not the future of the Church, they are the Church,” the celebration centred on placing the youth at the heart of the faith community.
A special Holy Mass was offered for all young people, commending their commitment to Christ and their dedication to the Catholic Church. During the service, a prayer was also dedicated to the youth, invoking God’s blessings upon their journey of faith.
The programme featured a spiritual talk by Fr. Ajimon, who emphasised the importance of God’s grace and the presence of the Holy Spirit in daily life. His session encouraged the youth to embark on a journey of seeking the truth — the truth that ultimately leads to God.
The day was marked by heartfelt prayers, vibrant worship, and moments of reflection, creating a space for young people to draw closer to Christ. The combination of prayer, worship, and inspiring words left participants spiritually enriched and strengthened in their faith.
