ICYM Jaipur Hosts Transformative Leadership Camp “Two by Two” for Youth Formation

JAIPUR, India, MAY 6, 2025: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Jaipur Diocese conducted a three-day youth leadership camp titled “Two by Two” from April 25 to 27, 2025, at Gyandeep Bhawan Pastoral Centre, Jaipur. Organised to form Christ-centered youth leaders, the camp brought together young participants from across the diocese to deepen their faith, strengthen their call to service, and grow in visionary leadership under the guidance of experienced mentors.

Mr. Mevin Bonny, former Diocesan Youth President of Meerut Diocese, served as the camp's primary resource person. Drawing from his vast experience, Mr. Bonny led a series of dynamic sessions focused on the spiritual dimensions of leadership, including Learning Leadership with Jesus, Leading Teams like Jesus, Visionary Leadership, Holiness and Purity, and Vocation Discernment.

The core themes emphasised throughout the programme included “availability over ability”, understanding leadership as a spiritual calling, and embracing Servant Leadership in the example of Christ—lifting others up rather than seeking personal advancement.

Workshops and activities encouraged participants to embody key virtues such as integrity, humility, faithfulness, and the Fruits of the Spirit. A standout session on “Leading with Vision and Wisdom” highlighted the biblical leadership of Nehemiah, underlining the importance of prayer, planning, and teamwork.

The camp also spotlighted the Church’s missionary mission through a session on Communio, focusing on the vital work of lay missionaries, especially in underserved rural areas. Testimonies from youth involved in the Communio India programme in Delhi offered firsthand insights and inspiration.

A moving session on Vocation Discernment invited participants to courageously respond to God’s call, stressing that the greater challenge lies not in renouncing material comforts but in overcoming spiritual hesitation and a lack of faith.

Attendees also participated in a short film competition, creatively portraying the lives of various saints. The event highlighted exceptional teamwork, compelling storytelling, and heartfelt devotion—all accomplished within a limited timeframe.

Towards the end of the camp, a Diocesan Council Meeting was held, during which parish secretaries presented their annual reports and outlined future plans. Two youth representatives from each parish committed to assisting PEXCO in leading local initiatives, pledging to engage disengaged youth and build vibrant, Christ-centered communities.

The camp ended with Eucharistic Adoration, leaving attendees spiritually renewed and motivated to live out their call to faith-filled leadership.

Members of ICYM Jaipur extended its heartfelt gratitude to Most Rev. Joseph Kallarackal, parish priests, the PEXCO team, support staff, and all volunteers whose dedication made the camp a memorable and transformative experience for every participant.
